Varicose veins occur primarily as the result of an inherited tendency to have weakened veins, which is exacerbated by gravity/standing and pregnancy. These veins are likely to appear on the lower half of the body including on feet, ankles, calves, and thighs. Endovenous laser ablation is completed with only local anesthesia and the patient will be conscious throughout the procedure.
