Hand Rejuvenation
Hands, which are one of the most "tell tale" signs of aging are often ignored. As we age, the skin of the back of the hands becomes thinner and flecked with brown spots. Losing plumpness and firmness, our hands begin to reveal tendons and large superficial veins. The key to success in hand rejuvenation is to decide which interventions are needed and in what sequence. Some of these interventions address the aging skin, while others restore volume and remove unwanted veins.
Hand vein injection therapy, is a non-invasive office-based treatment that offers a fast, simple, and virtually painless way to have younger looking hands. The results are dramatic and long lasting.
Superficial veins (the surface veins we can see under the skin) are not essential, therefore there is no significant risk associated with hand vein therapy.
Injecting hand veins is similar to injection leg veins. No anesthetic is needed. During a vein removal procedure, a sclerosing solution is injected into the vein through a micro-needle. The tiny needles generally cause very little pain. The sclerosing solution causes the vein to be injured, close and turn to scar tissue, which is gradually absorbed by the body's natural system. A typical treatment may last for 15 to 20 minutes and consist of multiple injections followed by a compression wrap. For most complete results, usually a small series of injection sessions are necessary. All treatment is administered personally by Dr. Goldstein, a board certified phlebologist. Only FDA approved medications with a long record of safety are used.
Laser/Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
The skin on the back of the hand is susceptible to sun damage and photo aging resulting in red blotching, brown spots and weakened skin texture. By using lightbased therapy with laser, IPL or a combination of the two, we can effectively remove skin discolorations and improve skin texture. The specific light therapy and wavelengths chosen are based on each individuals lesions and skin types. The treatment light will pass through the skin specifically absorbed by the target lesion resulting in heating and then gradual absorbtion by the body. The treatment is relatively pain free, safe and results in no downtime. |
